GPS asset tracking and driver route guidance Surfside Buslines

Developed for use in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast during 2018, Drum Technologies with technology partners developed and deployed a world-first route guidance solution fully integrated with HASTUS planning software.

The software dynamically allocates route mapping based on driver shift allocations reducing training times and costs whilst enhancing the quality of the service offering.

Surfside trained a new driver workforce for the Games, using 130 units for over 50 bus routes and since has deployed the technology across its fleet of over 400 vehicles realising material productivity and costs savings.

The solution is now being deployed across multiple operators’ fleets around Australia for collection of GPS trip data and driver route training
